Project
PSP Web Recomp
Translate PSP MIPS executables into C++ and WebAssembly, backed by a PSP high-level emulation runtime and WebGL2 renderer. Native tracing, frame capture and audio tools support investigating missing behavior during game porting.
Requirements and limitations
- Provide an image of a game you own and a compatible executable decrypter. Builds need Git, CMake, Ninja, C++20, Python 3, PSPRecomp and Emscripten. Linux is the documented tested build host; macOS is untested.
- Author demonstrations cover two Ready at Dawn titles sharing an engine. Other games can require missing HLE calls or graphics features. Movies are skipped, and encrypted saves from a PSP or PPSSPP do not yet load; this catalog did not reproduce compatibility or performance claims.
- Threaded browser hosting requires cross-origin isolation headers and HTTP Range support. The optional native runner also requires EGL/OpenGL ES development headers.
- Upstream states that game data is not included and asks users not to redistribute generated game C++ or WebAssembly. Project code uses MIT; the bundled ATRAC decoder retains LGPL-2.1-or-later.
