Tool
XenonRecomp
Converts Xbox 360 PowerPC executables into C++ that can be compiled for other platforms, with the XenonAnalyse companion detecting jump tables and function boundaries. Output is a literal instruction translation rather than decompiled code and needs a runtime that the project does not supply.
Requirements and limitations
- A per-game TOML file supplies the XEX (plus an optional title-update XEXP), output directory, jump-table file and addresses of register save/restore and setjmp/longjmp functions; some function boundaries may need manual entries. Jump-table detection targets Sonic Unleashed patterns and may need changes for other games.
- The README disclaimer states that no runtime is provided and that making a game work is the user’s responsibility. MMIO is unimplemented, exceptions are unsupported, and some PPC instruction variants are missing.
- Building needs a recursive clone, CMake 3.20+ and Clang 18+; other compilers are untested and not recommended, including for generated output. There is no GitHub release; last commit at review: 2025-08-04.
- MIT-licensed project code; submodules keep their own licenses. It ships no game code or assets. Downstream projects such as Unleashed Recompiled need separate review, and no game compatibility is implied.
