Tool
EMBA
Extract firmware, combine static checks with emulation-based analysis, inventory software components, and generate web reports and SBOMs for further investigation.
Requirements and limitations
- Upstream recommends an x86-64 Kali Linux VM and the default Docker mode; Ubuntu 22.04/24.04 is also listed. Native ARM execution is not supported.
- Documented resource guidance is at least 16 GB RAM, 8 CPU cores recommended, and 30–100 GB free disk space; larger firmware or more parallel workers need more resources.
- Install the external dependencies through the project installer. Emulation can execute firmware content; upstream reserves developer mode for development, and findings still require interpretation.
