AI Rebuilds
A website and GitHub list of 81 projects that rebuild existing software or games without the original source: AI-built clean-room apps such as the ArtCraft suite, software rewritten with coding agents, AI-assisted game decompilations, game engine reimplementations, human-led decompilations and ports, clean-room classics such as Wine and ReactOS, and tools for rebuilders. Each entry says what it rebuilds and carries a method label and an AI-involvement label, and the site can be searched, filtered and sorted by stars or recent activity. A separate guide describes a clean-room rebuild workflow with REA.

Requirements & limits
- Scope: Reviewed at commit 8092b23, where data/projects.json (list updated 2026-10-29, GitHub figures refreshed 2026-11-02) holds 81 projects in seven categories and generates both the README and ai-rebuilds.com, which served the same list at review. Entries, counts and labels can change after this review.
- Scope: Method labels are clean-room, reimplementation, decompilation, recompilation, port, rewrite or tool. AI labels (built, assisted, none or unknown) follow each project's own description, and 49 entries are labelled with no AI involvement. A weekly workflow refreshes stars, last-push dates, archive status and licences from the GitHub API and checks links. Entries may not distribute the original's code, binaries, ROMs or assets; the site hosts no software and takes fix and removal requests.
- Attribution: REA is listed first among 13 tools, and only the DX-Ball entry is described as using it. The site's third-party guide “Rebuild something with REA” covers installing rea-agents, choosing REA tools by input type, a two-agent clean-room split and checks against the original; its Node.js minimums (22.19+, 24.11+ or 26+) are older than the 22.23.4+, 24.22.1+ or 26.12.1+ that REA's README now requires.
- License: MIT for the code and the list; the LICENSE excludes original games, their code and assets. Descriptions are the site's own, and the lists it drew entries from are credited, among them CC BY-SA 4.0 and CC0 lists.
