CoD4 Rewrite: Rust/Bevy reconstruction

A Rust/Bevy reconstruction of Call of Duty 4 multiplayer systems, using assets from a local game installation. Source covers menus, local bots, movement and combat, and connects custom relay-based netplay to the game.

Requirements and limitations

  • Requires Windows, a Vulkan-capable GPU and an owned CoD4 patch 1.7 installation. Optional Black Ops, Modern Warfare 2 and World at War content requires their separate installations; game assets are not supplied.
  • Current source connects the multiplayer dependency and NetplayPlugin despite README statements that networking is pending. Complete online-match behavior and compatibility with original CoD4 servers are not established by this review.
  • Rendering and gameplay include deliberate extensions, so original-game equivalence is not established. No game, launcher, relay or test was run for this review.
  • Cargo declares MIT OR Apache-2.0, inherited by the game and multiplayer crates. No standalone license text was found in the reviewed tree.
