Aptio V UEFI Editor

Browser-based editor for the setup menus of AMI Aptio V UEFI firmware, offered as an alternative to AMIBCP. From four sections the user takes from their own BIOS image, it rebuilds the setup forms and their references and shows each setting's VarStore, offset, size, options, failsafe and optimal defaults, access level and Suppress If conditions. Changes to top-level menu targets, suppressions, access levels and defaults are written back into the section files with a change log, and a session can be saved as hash-checked JSON; a separate IFR-Formatter.js script condenses IFRExtractor-RS output into a per-setting VarStore and offset listing.

Requirements & limits

  • Reviewed master commit 44e8c9b (2026-03-15, hash-check changes); the previous source change was in April 2025. There are no releases or tags: the app, version 0.1.0 in its source, is served from GitHub Pages by a workflow that builds it with Node 20, npm ci and Vite. Building locally uses the React, Mantine and TypeScript package.json scripts.
  • Inputs come from the user's own Aptio V UEFI image, found with UEFITool NE: the Setup PE32 image section, its text output from IFRExtractor-RS 1.6.1 (the only version the editor accepts), the AMITSE PE32 image section and the setupdata body. The page reads them in the browser, rejects non-UEFI IFR output, and checks saved JSON against the files' SHA-256 hashes. The repository includes no firmware images or extracted sections, only screenshots of the tools.
  • README says the modified files are put back with UEFITool 0.28.0 and that setting visibility methods vary between firmware, so either may need trying; flashing a modified image was outside this review. Its separate section on another way to change hidden settings is unrelated to the editor and is not described here.
  • The repository has no license file, and package.json marks the package private, so reuse terms are not stated. No automated tests are published, and no firmware was opened or modified in this review.
