wxapkg

Desktop GUI for Windows and macOS, built with Wails, that unpacks WeChat mini-program .wxapkg packages for study. It scans the mini-program package folders of local WeChat 3.x and 4.x installations, including per-user folders, or takes a file or folder the user selects; packages that the PC client stores encrypted are decrypted first. Each packaged file is written to its recorded path, with optional beautification of JSON, HTML and JavaScript.

Requirements and limitations

  • Release at review: v2.0.0, published 2026-04-16, with a Windows x64 executable and a macOS universal app; earlier v1.x releases shipped Windows executables only. The reviewed main commit adds only a settings dialog for the default output directory after that release.
  • The README names Windows and macOS as the supported platforms. Building from source needs Go 1.25 as declared in go.mod, the Wails v2 CLI and npm for the Vue frontend.
  • Input is .wxapkg packages already on the machine, found in WeChat's package folders or selected manually. The output is the files stored in the package: the reviewed code has no WXML or WXSS decompilation step, so compiled view code stays compiled, and reading mini-program information is still an unchecked item in the README's feature list.
  • No license file or license declaration was found, so public source availability is not a reuse grant. The README disclaimer limits use to learning and researching the design ideas and principles in software, with users bearing all legal responsibility; analyze only packages you are authorized to inspect.
