ssbu-recomp: static recompilation with explicit mode limits
Translates Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 13.0.4 AArch64 code ahead of time and supplies a Windows runtime with Vulkan/OpenGL rendering. It also reconstructs selected fighter scripts as editable C++ and compares translated/source behavior through differential and deterministic tests.
Requirements and limitations
- Running requires Windows 10/11 x64, a Vulkan 1.3-capable GPU and the user’s own 13.0.4 game dump. Linux and Steam Deck support have not started.
- Building requires Python 3.10+ with the documented packages, LLVM/clang 9.0.0 (8.0.0 is also documented as working), MSVC/Windows SDK, SDL3, Vulkan headers, glslang and reference tooling. Music needs libopus; movies need Media Foundation, VP9 Video Extensions and Web Media Extensions 2.x, with Media Feature Pack additionally required on Windows N.
- Only some modes have reported play coverage. Adventure maps/fights and several multiplayer modes are untested; online is unavailable. Physical controllers are not yet confirmed despite virtual-device tests.
- The author credits Claude agents. Reported frame rates, differential equivalence and selected fighter match traces do not establish full-game equivalence; this catalog did not run them.
- The README grants GPL version 3 or later. The public repository supplies tools/runtime rather than the game dump, keys or assets; game-derived output is a separate requirement.
