LASRecomp: Link’s Awakening static recompilation

A native desktop reconstruction of the 2019 Switch version of Link’s Awakening using static recompilation. The author attributes most code, tooling and reverse-engineering work to Claude Code with human direction and review.

Requirements and limitations

  • Users must supply their own legally obtained v1.0.0 game files; the repository and release builds omit Nintendo game code, assets and fonts.
  • Release requirements include macOS 15+ on Apple Silicon or Windows 10+/Linux on x86-64; the x86-64 paths need AVX2 and Vulkan 1.3. Linux ARM remains experimental and untested on hardware.
  • Beta status includes documented crashes and rendering defects. AI involvement is author-reported, not independently quantified; no REA integration or complete behavioral equivalence is established.
