# IDASQL

> SQL interface to IDA Pro databases that exposes a binary's analysis as more than 30 live virtual tables for agents and scripts. The tables cover functions, segments, names, imports, cross-references, basic blocks, instructions, strings, types, decompilation and annotations, and part of the database can be edited through them. It runs as a standalone CLI that can open raw binaries through idalib, as a plugin in IDA's command-line dropdown, as an HTTP REST or MCP server, or through a skills plugin for Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI and Codex, and it can work across several databases at once.

## Requirements & limits

- **Prerequisites:** Needs IDA Pro with its directory on PATH and the idasql release artifact built for the installed IDA version (ida92, ida93 or ida94); plugin binaries are SDK-version-specific. The HCLI-compatible plugin archive covers Windows x86-64, Linux x86-64 and macOS ARM64, with separate ARM64 archives for IDA 9.3 and 9.4. Building from source needs IDA SDK 9.0 or later. Release at review: v0.0.19, published 2026-10-10.
- **Scope:** The MCP server serves SSE on a local port and is compiled in by default (-DIDASQL_WITH_MCP=ON); the agent skills live in the separate idasql-skills repository. Deep-link features need IDA 9.4.
- **License:** Licensed under the Human-Origin Source License v1.0, a source-available license derived in structure from MPL 2.0 that is not OSI-approved: it allows using, building and redistributing unmodified copies, including commercially, but forbids shipping modified versions outside upstream contributions and using the code as an implementation source without the author's written permission.
