ida-mcp-rs

Headless MCP server written in Rust that drives IDA Pro through idalib, so agents such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI or Cursor can open and analyze binaries without the IDA GUI. Apple targets are single tool calls, including universal Mach-O slice selection, dSYM/DWARF loading and dyld_shared_cache module loading; a 28-tool lean profile sits beside the full tool set, run_script executes IDAPython and returns JSON, and editing tools such as rename, comments, patches and type application each take exactly one address or exact symbol name. save_idb writes checkpoints, and crashed or wedged IDA workers are replaced automatically.

Requirements & limits

Prerequisites: Needs a released IDA Pro 9.5 with a valid license on the same host architecture, a Hex-Rays decompiler for the target processor for pseudocode tools and working IDAPython for run_script; IDA's first-launch setup, including license acceptance, must be completed by the user. Server versions follow IDA versions (v9.5.x for IDA 9.5, with Homebrew casks for 9.2 to 9.4), and the IDA 9.5 beta runtime is not compatible with the stable server.
Prerequisites: Installs through Homebrew, Scoop, Nix or release archives for macOS, Linux and Windows on ARM64 and x86_64; the binary loads IDA's libida and libidalib at run time from standard install paths or IDADIR and library-path variables. Release at review: v9.5.0, published 2026-11-01 and validated with IDA 9.5.261026 on macOS, Linux and Windows ARM64.
