# deREferencing

> IDA Pro plugin that adds register and stack views to the debugger in which pointers are dereferenced and colored, similar to the context displays of GDB plugins such as PEDA, GEF and pwndbg. It supports x86, x86-64, ARM, ARM64, MIPS32 and MIPS64; both views open from Debugger > Debugger Windows or with Alt-Shift-D and Alt-Shift-E, and a saved desktop layout reopens them in later debugging sessions.

## Requirements & limits

- **Prerequisites:** IDA Pro 7.1 or later. Install it with hcli plugin install dereferencing, or copy dereferencing.py and the dereferencing folder into IDA's plugin directory (.idapro/plugins under the home directory on Linux and macOS, %AppData%\Hex-Rays\IDA Pro\plugins on Windows). Release at review: v2026.09.03, published 2026-09-03, whose tag is the reviewed master commit.
