Reverse Engineering Mobile Application User Interfaces with REMAUI (T)
Reconstructs native Android UI code from screenshots or design bitmaps using OCR, computer vision, and layout heuristics; evaluates visual similarity and view hierarchies on 488 screenshots from over 100 Android and iOS applications.
Scope and limitations
The output is Android UI code; iOS screenshots are inputs, not evidence of native iOS output. Original logic and backend behavior are not recovered, and multi-screen transitions were future work. OCR/layout heuristics can misidentify content. The linked REMAUI v2 repository has older dependencies and is not the exact verified 2015 artifact.
Why it fits this collection
Adds foundational native mobile-interface reconstruction research alongside the existing binary and website papers.
