From Code to Requirements: Agentic Reverse Engineering of Business Rules at Enterprise Scale

Uses seven agents and human review to recover business requirements from source, tests, configuration and documentation. A reported enterprise migration checks extracted rules against production-defect records.

Scope and limitations

Evidence covers one enterprise Java programme and one legacy pilot. The cost comparison uses a modeled manual baseline with asymmetric accounting. Static analysis misses some runtime and external rules; coverage does not establish completeness. Confidential inputs limit independent reproduction.

Why it fits this collection

Extends application reconstruction to recovering behavioral specifications.
